Apple Face ID vulnerability!

Apple ‘s fingerprint technology, leaving the Face ID technology, the new security system on all devices with face recognition technology has changed. Apple Face ID faces vulnerability!

Apple Face ID Faces Vulnerability!

In recent years, Apple has removed the fingerprint sensor from its devices and integrated facial recognition technology. Although the reliability of face recognition technology was discussed for a long time, it was accepted as a reliable technology by many institutions and organizations. But new research has proved that Face ID is unreliable.

A security researcher identified an essential vulnerability in Face ID technology using an ordinary pair of glasses and two-color tapes. In a session where a lot of research was done on Biometric Authentication, new open details were shared.

According to the explanations in the session. The viability detection in Face ID is one of the essential parts of the biometric authentication process that separates the real face features from the fake faces. The first step in biometric authentication systems is to determine whether a person sleeps with his eyes open or awake or with his eyes closed. If iris and pupil are not detected, the device will not be unlocked.

But Apple’s face detection system allows iPhone owners to unlock their devices even when wearing glasses. However, when Face ID detects the glasses, it skips analyzing the information in the eye area.

Combining these two features, Tencent researchers found a way to bypass Face ID by pasting black tape at the center of each lens and then white tape in the middle of each black tape. The black band and the white band respectively represent the iris and the pupil.

Designed with such a system, the thieves can steal face IDs by stealing the iPhone’s owners’ faces and trick the Face ID and unlock the device. Of course, it is not possible to wear these glasses without making the iPhone owner unconscious.

But the details of such a gap still revealed that Tencent researchers Apple to take a step to resolve this situation stressed. Also, researchers said that not only Apple but also other companies have similar vulnerabilities in biometric authentication systems.

SpaceX Receives Dogecoin Payments for Next Year's Moon Launch Mission!

SpaceX itself will launch its “DOGE-1 Mission to the Moon” in the first quarter of next year, with Elon Musk’s commercial rocket company accepting the meme-inspired cryptocurrency Dogecoin as payment.

“SpaceX launches the Doge-1 satellite to next year’s moon-paid mission in Doge – the first cryptocurrency in space – the first meme in space,” Musk said in a tweet.

On the other hand, Geometric Energy Corporation announced the previous Dogecoin-funded mission on May 9 yesterday, with a statement that did not reveal the financial value of the mission.

“This mission will demonstrate the application of cryptocurrency beyond Earth orbit and set the groundwork for interplanetary trading,” said Tom Ochinero, vice president of commercial sales for SpaceX, as quoted in a statement released by Geometric Energy.

Musk also said on Twitter in April that SpaceX would put “Dogecoin literal in the literal moon”. Dogecoin itself lost more than a third of its price on Sunday after Musk called it a “cacophony” during its guest-hosting place on the sketch comedy TV show “Saturday Night Live”.

On CoinGecko.com’s cryptocurrency tracking data, Dogecoin has surged more than 800 percent over the past month and is now the fourth-largest digital currency, with a market cap of US $ 73 billion.

Cellphones to Laptops Can Be Expensive until 2022, Due to Global Chip Shortages

Currently, a global shortage of semiconductors has hit several industries around the world, limiting not only smartphones, computers, and other electronic devices but also vehicles and other types of machines. And it looks like it won’t go away until 2022.

This is according to a Gartner report (first reported by IANS) which revealed that a global semiconductor shortage is expected to persist throughout 2021 and recover to normal levels in the second quarter of 2022.

A number of factors, both from the demand and supply side, have contributed greatly to Covid-19. There’s also the fact that everything we know – every gadget has a chip inside – from refrigerators, cars, smart speakers, and so on.

As the pandemic hit in early 2020, demand for consumer electronics and chips took a hit, but as production staggered back towards the end of 2020, demand for all kinds of chips in all types of devices from smartphones and laptops and more turned to hyper equipment. , and chip manufacturers are struggling to keep up with demand.

And with preliminary conservative estimates, this chip shortage is expected to last at least a year or more.

The report highlights that device shortages across different categories are expected to extend into the second quarter of 2022, while substrate capacity constraints have the potential to expand into the fourth quarter of 2022.

“A semiconductor shortage will seriously disrupt supply chains and will limit the production of many types of electronic equipment by 2021,” said Kanishka Chauhan, principal research analyst at Gartner.

Samsung Will Supply LTPO Screens and Circuit Boards for the Latest iPhone 13

The iPhone 13 Series, which Apple will launch this year, is predicted to come with a new screen that supports high refresh rates. The reason is that many fans are waiting for Apple to present a screen upgrade on its newest iPhone.

Now, there is a recent report from South Korea which states that in the future almost all iPhone 13 produced by Apple will use Samsung’s LTPO screen.

Although later there will be a few screen components supplied by LG, the circuit board that connects the screen to the smartphone will come from Samsung Display.

More specifically, it is known that Apple will order 110 million screen panels from Samsung Display, 50 million from LG, and 9 million from BOE to meet consumer demand when the smartphone is launched.

The use of the LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) screen made by Samsung is known to allow the iPhone 13 Series to come with a 120Hz refresh rate and use less battery thus extending its durability.

As information, the circuit board that will be used in the iPhone 13 itself is said to have a strong and flexible type of RF PCB. However, for the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini, Apple is said to be using a cheaper and conventional FPCB design.
