Apple Wants to ‘Eliminate’ Passwords Using Face ID and Touch ID

Many people now believe that the security system using passwords or passwords is no longer safe. Because now passwords are easy to guess so the risk of being hacked is also high.
But now there are many new security systems available ranging from fingerprint usage to facial biometrics.
Well, through the Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC 2021 event yesterday, a technology company from Cupertino, USA, Apple is known to announce the presence of authentication technology, namely iCloud Keychain.
It is known that this technology will help users to enter or log into accounts without having to type a password but using the Face ID or Touch ID features that are now available on Apple’s devices.
Later each user’s account will have a password that is generated by the system, the user does not need to memorize the password because everything will be connected to the Apple ID so that all that is needed is information related to Face ID or Touch ID.
For developers, technology like this is not a new thing because this concept is more or less the same as the current WebAuthn technology.
“Because users only need to press once to log in, this is much easier, faster, and more secure than current authentication systems,” said Apple’s Authentication Experience Engineer, Garrett Davidson.
