Chinese Startup Creates Robots To Care For Patients With Coronavirus

For a few days in recent weeks, robots have taken control of a hospital in Wuhan, China. The objective was to offer health professionals a break after long periods of care for patients infected with the coronavirus.

The robots, provided by the startup CloudMinds, were controlled remotely by a medical team using an information management platform. With that, the robots could perform sorting tasks that, usually, were done by a human team.

Right at the hospital entrance, temperature measurement devices with a 5G connection signaled patients with fever. Other robots – some with a humanoid appearance and others of the primary type, with a square shape – worked for 24 hours to measure the heart rate and oxygen levels in the blood of the patients under observation.

All control of the condition of the infected was done through smart bracelets and rings. In addition to the monitoring, the robots delivered medicines, patrolled, cleaned the infected areas, and even danced to entertain bored patients.

The hospital was opened on March 7 with 12 robots, in addition to other smart devices. However, it has recently been closed to other temporary Wuhan service locations.

That’s because the risk of coronavirus in China seems to have dissipated, with regular hospitals managing to accommodate the new cases. Still, the program highlighted how robots could be used to relieve human work during a pandemic situation.

The robots will remain operational within the hospital if needed again. “We have been informed that all medical staff at temporary hospitals remain in the city resting and waiting, ready to reopen if necessary,” said a spokesman for CloudMinds.

Although the authorities have declared that they are ready to reopen the care centers if the situation gets worse, it is very encouraging to see that the country, which was once considered the epicenter of the disease, is beginning to recover from a pandemic that has caused hundreds of deaths.

MacBook with Apple M1 Processor Can Still Run Windows 10 OS

Apple has just officially launched a new Mac device equipped with an ARM-based Apple M1 processor. The use of this latest processor also brings a big increase in terms of the performance and durability of the device.

However, one of the things that worries many people is whether the Mac device equipped with the Apple M1 processor can still run the Windows 10 operating system or not. Because as we know, the Windows operating system is designed to run on the x86 chipset while the Apple M1 is an ARM-based processor.

MacBook with Apple M1 Processor Can Still Run Windows 10 OS

It turns out that the use of an ARM-based Apple M1 processor does not rule out the latest Mac devices to run Windows operating systems. This was also proven by a developer named Alexander Graf who successfully runs the Windows 10 operating system on his MacBook.

Through his personal Twitter account, Alexander Graf also shows the appearance of the Windows 10 operating system running on his MacBook using a modified QEMU emulator software.

“Who said Windows can’t run well on Apple Silicon?” Alexander Graf wrote showing the performance of the MacBook Apple M1 which is quite good when running this operating system from Microsoft.

It is known that the Graph uses the ARM version of Windows 10 Insider Preview which is usually used on Microsoft’s Surface devices. It turns out that the performance presented by MacBook devices running Windows 10 is 60 to 80 percent faster than the Surface Pro X device.

Samsung shows off its new roll screen and foldable screen smartphone concept

Samsung has recently been known to show off some of its newest smartphone concepts. Because on the official Samsung Display blog, there are two sketches of Samsung smartphones that are predicted to be coming soon in the next few years.

In the sketch, it can be seen that there is a man who is thinking about a Samsung folding smartphone that comes with a new folding screen concept where the screen of the smartphone can be folded into three parts. Yes, three parts and not two parts like regular Galaxy Fold smartphones.

Then in the second sketch, there is a device that is predicted to come as a rolling screen smartphone equipped with a physical keyboard. Indeed, currently, rolling screens are the latest technological innovations that are beginning to be applied in many electronic devices.

The two sketches also appear with the words SAMSUNG OLED which shows that the 2 sketches were uploaded to show screen technology made by Samsung Display. Indeed, now Samsung Display is also producing a flexible OLED screen that can be folded as well as rolled.

Of course, this makes many people curious and can’t wait to see what the smartphone looks like firsthand if Samsung will actually realize it in the future.

Previously, OPPO itself had also exhibited a smartphone prototype called OPPO X 2021 which was present as a smartphone with the world’s first scroll screen. So from that, it’s not surprising that Samsung also doesn’t want to lose in showing off their roll screen smartphone concept even from a sketch.
