Facebook today introduced a new logo for the Messenger messaging app. Facebook has also updated Messenger with a number of new features and a few changes to the app’s interface, which has been adjusted according to its new logo.
Facebook explains that the new logo represents the evolution of Messenger, considering it more than just a place to send and receive messages.
In the last few months, Facebook has updated Messenger with a number of new capabilities, including improved video calling features, the ability to watch shared videos, etc.
The new Messenger logo adopts a blue to the pink gradient, inspired by Instagram. This is part of Facebook’s efforts to deliver cross-platform messaging capabilities.
Announced last September, Instagram users can now send messages to Facebook users via Messenger, and vice versa.
In addition to the new logo, Facebook has also added a number of new features specifically for customizing the appearance of the application.
Messenger now allows users to set up messaging themes, such as the Love and Tie-dye themes already available. Users can now also send customized reactions, with a wider choice of emojis.
Facebook is also introducing a number of new features that will be rolling out soon on Messenger. One of these includes selfie stickers, allowing users to use selfies as stickers.
Messenger will also be equipped with a Vanish Mode feature that can delete messages after viewing or after the user leaves the chat.
Facebook did not specify whether the update will be rolled out as soon as this announcement is made, or will be rolled out by region or by a specific group of users.
Even so, this update is expected to arrive in at least the next few days.
WhatsApp Web Will Get Video Call and Voice Capabilities Soon
WhatsApp web can do many things like the mobile version. Instant messaging services can send and receive messages, photos, videos, and documents.
For the most part, the WhatsApp web can perform quite well as a Messenger service. However, one downside of this platform is the lack of voice and video call support.
However, everything changed immediately. According to a report from WABetaInfo, they found some evidence that suggests WhatsApp Web will soon introduce video and voice calling capabilities.
Basically, the presence of video and voice calls is not too surprising. In fact, the surprising thing is that it has taken time so far to introduce capabilities, as quoted from Ubergizmo, Thursday (22/10/2020).
WhatsApp is a messaging service owned by Facebook. Well, the Facebook Messenger service already offers a similar feature on the desktop along with other messaging clients.
So, it’s more of a matter of when than whether the feature will come to WhatsApp Web. In today’s video conferencing era when it comes to working and school, video call and voice features are needed as an alternative.
This is How many words ‘5G’ was spoken at the Apple event last October
Apple has recently officially announced the presence of its newest smartphone, the iPhone 12 Series, which comes with a number of updates. But the main thing that Apple emphasizes on the iPhone 12 is support for 5G networks.
Yes, Apple is very pleased that they have finally been able to bring 5G support to its iPhone where other smartphone manufacturers have actually started releasing 5G smartphones from the end of 2019.
Despite having to sacrifice a screen that still doesn’t have a 120Hz refresh rate, Apple is apparently quite proud of their iPhone 12 that it says the word ‘5G’ too often.
Recently, a Twitter user by the name of OnlyTechAE has uploaded a video showing a cut of a presentation at the Apple Event on October 14, 2020 yesterday where Apple officials said the word ‘5G’.
The video also shows how many words ‘5G’ was spoken in the presentation. Where these words were spoken by Apple officials to their own CEO, Tim Cook.
One Twitter user also took the time to count how many words ‘5G’ were spoken in the presentation. As a result, there were 68 mentions of the word ‘5G’ in the presentation. This certainly makes a lot of laughs seeing how Apple is very proud of 5G.
