OmniVision Introduces 64MP Sensor With 1.0µm Pixels

OmniVision presenta un sensor de 64 MP con píxeles de 1,0 µm

Last February, OmniVision launched a 64 MP 1 / 1.7 sensor, which has 0.8 µm pixels. And now, the company is releasing a sensor that’s bigger than ever again, which is 64MP 1 / 1.34 and has 1.0µm pixels. Interestingly, this sensor can be used in ultrawide screens.

The pixels, which are larger than OmniVision OV64A, are 60% more sensitive to light compared to 0.8 µm pixels. Naturally, it has a 4-cell (aka Quad Bayer) color filter for pixel binning.

While it can output 8K videos at 30fps, the more interesting mode is 4K with 4-in-1 binning which results in sizable 2.0µm pixels. Especially when used for photos, this same binning mode can produce 16MP images.

This sensor also supports HDR which is even brighter and processes the HDR image faster than before.

Not only that, this sensor can provide them with a stable 4K 120 FPS and also offers 1080p 240 FPS and 720p 480FPS modes.

Reportedly this sensor will be delivered before this year ends which is possible in 2021, some mid-range and high-end phones can use this sensor.

China Launches World's First Glass Cable Car, Gives Passengers Beautiful Views

China has debuted its first glass-bottomed sky train, which will allow passengers to see 270-degree views of the country’s beautiful landscape.

According to a report on CNN, adapted on Wednesday (7/7/2021), the glass-bottomed sky train, which resembles the country’s most popular animal – Panda, was launched from the production line from Chengdu, Sichuan Province on June 26.

The train runs on renewable energy and can travel at a speed of 80 km/h. The train is part of the Dayi Air-rail project, which includes China’s first renewable energy suspension rail demonstration track.

According to Global News, reported on Wednesday (7/7/2021), the new energy aerial rail refers to a cable car driven by a lithium battery power pack.

Maximum 120 people can fit in each car. Given the fact that glass can reflect heat, the train is air-conditioned to balance it. It is made of lightweight carbon fiber material. Unlike the subway or light rail, the air-rail project combines tourist traffic and sightseeing features.

The Dayi Railway, with a distance of about 11.5 kilometers, has four stations connecting several important tourist points. The project is being developed by Zhongtang Air Rail Technology. They are targeting construction to be completed by the end of this year.

“The new generation of vehicles weighs about 2.5 tons, is 0.5 tons lighter than traditional ones, and has the lowest self-weight coefficient in the industry,” Zhong Min, deputy general director of Zhongtang Air Rail.

This YouTuber Builds a Mini PC That Can Run the macOS Big Sur Operating System

Running the macOS operating system on PC devices has become a common thing, but what happens if the operating system is run on a mini PC with not too high specifications? Of course, that’s a pretty interesting thing.

Recently a YouTuber named Ike T. Sanglay or Iketsj has uploaded a video where he tries to assemble a PC device that will later run Apple’s macOS.

Initially, Iketsj used the LattePanda Alpha SBC board which was then equipped with an Intel Core M3, 8GB RAM, 240GB SSD, and was also connected to an Arduio Leonardo.

The process of making the casing is also shown where Iketsj made it using a 3D printer. The results of the case can be said to be quite good where he can include all components such as the board, screen, and keyboard in a size that is not too large.

Although the process of installing macOS Big Sur (Hackintosh) on the device is not shown, at least Iketsj shows how the macOS can be used smoothly.

In the video, Iketsj says that it costs more to assemble the device than buying a Mac Mini from Apple. But Iketsj wants to do something challenging and doesn’t want to buy a ready-made device.

Future Closer, Archer Officially Launches Flying Taxi Tak

Archer Aviation officially launched its first electric flying taxi called “Maker”. It is shaped like a helicopter and is claimed to be zero emissions because it is operated using batteries.

Reported by Reuters , Sunday (13/6/2021), Archer’s debut was staged in a hangar using XR technology to simulate travel.

Archer Aviation’s flying taxis cannot be flown commercially. However, the shows and simulations have opened many people’s horizons about the future.

Future Closer, Archer Officially Launches Flying Taxi Tak

Archer hopes that Maker’s flying taxi can be launched commercially by 2024. Currently, they are in the process of certifying the four-passenger aircraft.

“Our real goal is to create mass market transportation solutions in and around cities,” said co-founder and co-CEO Brett Adcock.

This flying taxi can glide at a speed of 150 miles per hour (240 km per hour) for a distance of up to 60 miles (100 km). The price is US$3-US$4 per mile for one passenger.

For example, a 17-mile trip will cost US$50-US$70 with a travel time of 7 minutes. This is much faster than a car ride which takes 60-90 minutes.

However, experts predict the multibillion-dollar eVTOL market will not immediately generate money and the timing of approval is uncertain.
