PlayStation Now: Sony Cuts its Price in Half To Compete with Microsoft

PlayStation Now

Playstation has cut the price of its on-demand gaming and streaming service Playstation Now in half. From now on the service costs $9.99  per month instead of the $19.99  that the company has so far charged for access.

In addition to the price drop, Playstation will reinforce the catalog – which has 700 titles – with best-selling games available for a limited time. From October 1, those who hire the service will be able to download and play titles like God of War, Grand Theft Auto V, inFAMOUS Second Son, and Uncharted 4: The Thief’s End. These games will remain in the Playstation Now catalog until January 2020, and the company will add other similar titles every so often.

The decision will allow Sony to compete more aggressively with other streaming services or access to video games through a flat rate that its competitors already have available.

Microsoft, for example, has long offered Game Pass, a subscription service for $9.99  per month that allows access to many of the Xbox titles both on the console and on PC. The company is expected to launch this October also XCloud, a direct video game streaming service that will not need to download titles or a powerful machine to run them.

Google also launches Stadia, a streaming game service that can be played on tablets, computers, or televisions. The service will also cost $9.99  and will offer triple-A games in its catalog (the name with which the games with the highest budget are known).

Playstation Now differs from its competitors because it is a hybrid service. Players can choose to stream many PS4, PS3 and PS2 games available on their PS4 or computer, or download more than 300 PS4 games on the console.

Sony Apologizes For Pre-Order Issues from PlayStation 5 Console

A few days ago, when Sony officially revealed the price and release date of the PS5, it immediately opened the pre-order stage of the console in several countries. They are also working with a number of retailers to sell their new consoles.

However, it turned out that the opening of the pre-order stage was quite a problem. It is known that there are many people unable to access the pre-order site of the PlayStation 5 because too many people are accessing the site simultaneously.

As a result, many of them became lazy and disappointed because Sony was said to be not ready to accommodate all gamers who were enthusiastic about buying their new console.

Responding to this, Sony finally spoke up and conveyed their apologies to fans regarding the matter. Sony also promised to fix the problem so that everyone can pre-order.

“To be honest, PS5 pre-orders should have gone smoother, we are very sorry for this. In the next few days, we will release more PS5s so they can be pre-ordered, retailers will provide more information,” said the party. Sony.

It was also stated that later the availability of the PS5 would continue until the end of 2020.

As information, the PlayStation 5 itself is planned to be officially launched on November 12, 2020 in the United States. The PS5 itself is priced at US $ 399 for the Digital Edition version and US $ 499 for the regular version.

Apple Accuses Fortnite Developers of Monopoly

Apple Accuses Fortnite Developers of Monopoly

Fortnite game developer received accusations from Apple regarding monopoly. The feud continues between Apple Inc and Epic Games. Adapted from USA Today, Monday (21/9), Epic Games has now filed a preliminary injunction request in a California court.

In addition, Epic Games also wrote that it “suffers irreparable harm” if the Fortnite game is not returned on the App Store.

Epic Games also said that Apple had exercised a ‘monopoly’ if it continued to do so with Fortnite games. As is known, Apple has removed the Fortnite game from the App Store in August.

This is because Epic Games was caught creating their own payment system, instead of using a system made by Apple. Not only that, Apple, which was supposed to get 30 percent of sales in the payment system, didn’t get that.

Meanwhile, Apple is now fending off the accusations given to him. He claims ‘Epic set fire to fire, poured gasoline and is now asking the court to provide emergency assistance’.

The Xbox Series S weighs less than half the weight of the Xbox Series X

Microsoft has recently officially announced the presence of the Xbox Series S console, which is an ‘affordable’ model of the Xbox Series X. In fact, it has also called the Xbox Series S the smallest Xbox.

How not, it is known that the Xbox Series S console is said to be present with a weight of around 4.25 pounds, equivalent to 1.9 kilograms only, unlike the Xbox Series X which weighs almost 10 pounds, equivalent to 4.5 kg.

Yes, this Xbox Series S console weighs no more than half the weight of the Xbox Series X. This makes this console very suitable for gamers who want to have a next-gen console that is small and lightweight.

However, to get the small size and light weight, Microsoft certainly has to trim a number of components in the Xbox Series S. Moreover, the price of this console is called quite cheap, namely US $ 299 .

Unlike the Xbox Series X which can run games with 4K resolution at 120fps, the Xbox Series S is known to only be able to display game content with a resolution of 1440p, but still has framerates up to 120fps too.

In addition, the memory capacity presented on the Xbox Series S is also smaller than the X Series. Of course this is a problem considering the Xbox Series S itself also does not have a Disc Drive which makes users have to download games purchased online through the Microsoft Store.
