It is not the first time we have heard about the possibility that the Apple Watch will end up integrating a Touch ID, such as the one used by the iPhone, to improve the security and identification of users when they are using the Apple Watch. Now, this possibility is taking shape with a new patent from the Californian manufacturer. In it, we can see what would be one of the most exciting security mechanisms of the next Apple Watch. A system that would end one of the main hallmarks of the watch.
A Touch ID with a different look
The Touch ID on Apple phones has been present until iPhone 8, and iPhone 9 could recover it in the coming months. This has always been housed in a large round button on the bottom of the phone, which in turn worked as a Home button. Now Apple, through a patent, has shown what could be the adaptation of its Touch ID to the Apple Watch, the most popular wearable on the planet. This, as you know, has always been characterized by the classic crown on its right side. With this, it is possible to select different aspects of the phone.
But from what we have seen in the patent, this crown could have the days counted if we consider what appears in this patent. At least with its utility and current digital technology. Since, as the United States Patent and Trademark Office shows today, this crown could become an optical device capable of reading the user’s fingerprint in the future. Also, in the patent, you can see how the operation of this finger recognition technology would be, with a different methodology to what we are used to. For example, you will not try to rest your finger so that the watch scans the fingerprint.
But with the fingertip, we will have to turn the wheel until it recognizes our mark. Logically this would be a plausible solution since, due to the dimensions of the Apple Watch, it is not possible to place a fingerprint sensor of the usual size on the screen or elsewhere in the watch. In this way, it would be integrated without altering the design of the watch and adding a security layer that currently has no smartwatch on the market. On other occasions, the possibility of Apple opting for a fingerprint reader under the clock screen had been considered. But it is something unlikely since Apple is not opting for this type of mechanism even on its iPhone, while it has already been extended to dozens of Android phones.
Logically we are only before a patent, which means that we could still have to wait for two generations to see something similar, we would be amazed to see this year an Apple Watch that already integrates this feature. In any case, it seems something that could become a reality by not being something crazy at all.
OnePlus Announces it Will Launch Cheaper Televisions in July
OnePlus Will Launch Cheaper TV
OnePlus Will Launch Cheaper TV:- The OnePlus CEO has announced that the company’s new televisions will be announced in July at a more affordable price.
In the last year, we have seen that different mobile manufacturers made the leap into the world of televisions.
A great example has been Xiaomi, who after launching its cheap televisions in Asia with several models that without being high-end have a good balance between quality and price.
But OnePlus does not want to be left behind and has announced its new even cheaper televisions.
OnePlus televisions have long been known and in September 2019 the different models that were committed to innovation and the most demanding user were known, but they are also working on other cheaper televisions that will soon be launched in Asia.
This has been announced by Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, on Twitter, although he has not given more details about the features they will have. So it opens up a little speculation period.
The only aspect that has advanced is the date when we will have more news about the new OnePlus TV: July 2.
Even so, it is not known if the new televisions will be cheap compared to those that the company launched previously or when putting them in front of the Xiaomi, for example.
Chances are they lack the dropdown soundbars or 1440p resolution, as they claim at XDA-Developers, but it’s less than a month to find out the details.
Sabrina Leaks, The New Google Chromecast With Remote Control And Android TV
The first renders of Sabrina have just been unveiled, the code name of the new Google Chromecast that shows a complete redesign, new colors, built-in remote control, and new software-based on Android TV.
We can already take a first look at the new Chromecast that Google is going to launch in 2020. A radical redesign compared to previous versions. Code-named Sabrina, it may end up being called Nest Chromecast or something similar, as Google is changing the name of its home products, including them under the Nest label.
The images published by XDA Developers reveal a new longer design, new colors, the new remote control that is included for the first time with Chromecast, and the new software based on Android TV.
The first thing that catches the attention of the successor to the Chromecast Ultra is its oval design, which contrasts with the round versions of the previous models. It also debuts a new pink color, along with white and black, so that users can better combine it with the furniture:
But the big news is the new remote control that Google has been forced to include after the success of Amazon’s Fire TV and the future competition of the Xiaomi Mi TV Stick, which will also have a remote control.
The Chromecast Sabrina remote shows the Pause, sound, menu, and favorites buttons, highlighting above all the black button with the Google Assistant, to control Chromecast with the voice. It will be much more comfortable to use than the control from the mobile screen, which is quite annoying.
The other great novelty of Sabrina is the new software based on Android TV. It will stop prioritizing apps to focus on platforms and TV content, as you can see in this screenshot:
Without a doubt, it will be a much more practical and comfortable device to use, focused on its main function: television streaming.
There are no official data on its launch and price, but rumors say that it will launch this summer at a price of around $ 80.
Xiaomi Will Announce Mi Band 5 On June 11
The Xiaomi will present its new smart bracelet Mi Band 5 on the 11th of June, according to the publication of the company disclosed on May 31, the Chinese social network Weibo.
Still not expected to launch the global version, sales of the device begin in China on the 18th.
The manufacturer did not provide details about the product, but speculation indicates that one of the main highlights of the Mi Band 5 will be support for the Alexa virtual assistant, developed by Amazon.
The feature, however, must have some limitations: the user can make voice commands to the virtual assistant, but the return of the machine will happen by text.
Rumors also point out that the device will feature an oximeter system, with sensors to measure the volume of oxygen in the user’s blood.
As in previous generations, Mi Band 5 will have the monitoring of steps and heartbeat, as well as resources to monitor the user’s performance in eleven physical activities, including running, swimming, and yoga.
The Mi Band 5 should be the first Xiaomi bracelet to support NFC in the international market. This will allow the device to be used to make payments by approach.
Currently, only bracelets sold in China have this technology. Xiaomi’s new smart device should have a 1.2-inch screen, larger than the 0.95-inch predecessor model, Mi Band 4.
The Chinese manufacturer also did not disclose the domestic price of the device. The expectation, however, is that the product will cost around 200 yuan. In the global market, the estimate rises to figures between the US $ 30.
