WhatsApp - Best Hidden Functions and Tips for Messenger

WhatsApp is definitely a very popular messenger. However, are you guys best at using this app? It has interesting hidden functions. In this article, we’ve collected the best tips and tricks that every WhatsApp user should know and use. See if you know all these options.

WhatsApp is an application that probably needs no introduction to almost anyone. The popular messenger hides various hidden functions. In this article, you will find tips that are definitely worth knowing. Cloud backup encryption? Reply to a specific chat message? It’s all at your fingertips.

We encrypt backups

WhatsApp has long been able to back up chats to iCloud and Google Drive. However, they can also be encrypted for some time. Let’s see how to do this. Go in the settings to the Chats section and then Chat Backup. At the very bottom of the new pane, there is a Fully encrypted backup option, which we turn on.

We reply to a specific chat message

The trick isn’t new, but it’s one of those WhatsApp tips you just need to know. Messenger allows you to reply to a specific message from a given chat. To do this, touch it with your finger and hold it. After a while, the menu will be displayed and in it we choose the Reply option.

We add an accent to the sent phrases

WhatsApp allows you to emphasize or highlight specific words sent in chats. They can be bold or italicized. How to do it? For this purpose, you need to use special characters that are inserted before and at the end of the phrase before it is sent. Below is a list of them.

  • Asterisk (*) – bold
  • Underscore (_) – italics
  • Tilde (~) – strikethrough

We send the location to friends

WhatsApp allows us to send the exact location to our friends. A trick that can certainly come in handy. To do this, in the chat window, touch the + icon and select Location from the menu. Then we send them to the recipient who will quickly locate us on the map.

We join the Beta program

WhatsApp Messenger allows you to test features that are not yet ready for public use. To do this, you need to join the Beta pilot program, which is possible from the settings level. Here, however, it is worth bearing in mind that this version of the messenger may be unstable and cause some problems in operation. This is paid for with access to new products that are just being tested.

WhatsApp is no longer dedicated to chatting, a shopping feature will be coming soon

WhatsApp is no longer just a message-sharing application. Later, users can make transactions or shop on WhatsApp via the Flows feature.

With the Flows feature, users can order train seats, and food, or make appointments without having to leave the chat room.

WhatsApp will start this feature in India. However, this feature will be available to businesses worldwide on WhatsApp Business in the next few weeks.

Users don’t worry, because WhatsApp’s parent, Meta, will verify business actors. To get Meta Verification, businesses simply demonstrate their authenticity to Meta and will later get a verified badge, enhanced account support, and protection from impersonation.

Meta Verification will come with additional premium features that include the ability to create custom WhatsApp pages, which can then be easily found via web search, and multi-device support to allow multiple employees to respond to customers.

WhatsApp collaborates with Razorpay and PayU for the Flows feature so that user transactions are guaranteed to be safe.
