Nokia is said to be leaving Android to use Huawei's HarmonyOS

For the past few years, the latest Nokia smartphones have been running the Android operating system. This is a pretty good step to get more people interested in buying and using Nokia’s products again.

But recently there were reports that HMD Global as the holder of the Nokia brand has now prepared a new smartphone that actually runs the HarmonyOS operating system.

For those of you who don’t know, HarmonyOS is an operating system made by Huawei which is currently being rolled out for a number of Huawei devices. Indeed, there are plans to make this operating system so that it can run on other smartphones, one of which is Nokia.

It is said that later the first smartphone from Nokia that comes with the HarmonyOS operating system is the Nokia X60.

Of course, this is one of the things that surprised many people. The reason is that HarmonyOS itself is still not too competitive with Android and iOS but Nokia entrusts its new smartphone to run the operating system.

However, there is also a possibility that this Nokia smartphone with HarmonyOS will only be released for the China region. While for other countries, Nokia will still use Android as usual.

Therefore, let’s look at the official information from Nokia and HMD Global regarding the report.

Apple has reportedly 'turned off' production of the iPhone 12 Mini, why

When the iPhone 12 Series was first launched, many people were quite surprised to see the iPhone 12 Mini which comes with a very small size. As a result, many are quite interested in buying it.

But after seeing a review about the durability of the smartphone which was not very good, many people ended up not buying the iPhone 12 Mini and preferring to buy the regular iPhone 12.

This also makes the demand for the iPhone 12 Mini very little. And recently there were reports that Apple had stopped production of the iPhone 12 Mini.

Based on a report from TrendForce, it is stated that now the iPhone 12 Mini has stopped being produced by Apple because the demand is so small that it has chosen to shift its production to the iPhone 12, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max.

This means that now Apple will only sell the iPhone 12 Mini that they had previously produced until the stock of the smartphone is completely depleted and will not be restocked at all.

It is possible that Apple will lower the price of the iPhone 12 Mini so that the stock runs out faster. Moreover, Apple will soon present the latest iPhone 13 Series which will launch in the third quarter of 2021.

Samsung Called to Recruit Engineers from Apple and AMD to Design New CPUs

Recently there were reports that Samsung was planning to hire former engineers from Apple and AMD who had worked on the development of custom chipsets for Apple.

It stated that Samsung gave the engineer the freedom to bring in his own team or choose an existing employee.

Of course, this proves that Samsung is really focused on presenting a new chipset that comes with its own design.

Samsung doesn’t seem too satisfied with the performance of the latest Cortex-X Series so they decided to make their own CPU design which is expected to have higher performance.

On the other hand, Qualcomm itself will soon announce its custom CPU designs after they acquire Nuvia, a company founded by former Apple engineers who make the M1, A14, and other chipsets.

We’ll see what will be presented by Samsung with this homemade chipset design. What do you think about this?
