When any video is viewed on YouTube, the content creator usually asks users to subscribe to the channel. This is no different from the pages of major news outlets. However, soon, they can request that another activity be performed: make a subscription to consume content directly on the site.
According to Digiday, the video platform works on a tool that will allow media outlets to sell subscriptions to their digital services through their YouTube channels.
There is still no information on the revenue share, but that would only give advantages to the vehicle, which could attract new subscribers who, consequently, could leave YouTube and consume material directly on the companies’ websites.
For the subscription to be completed, the platform is expected to share information such as the name and email address of the interested parties with the media. With this data, it is possible to create a service provision relationship, just as it would when entering directly on the website and performing the registration.
While not good for YouTube, this initiative can help attract new vehicles to create channels on the platform to publicize their subscription services. In addition to encouraging those already present to publish more content to ensure more relevance and, consequently, attract potential subscribers.
Twitter Starts Testing Voice Messages Feature in DM
After rolling out the audio tweets feature for iOS last June, Twitter is now continuing to experiment to help users communicate more easily on its services, one of the things it does is release voice messages.
Recently the Product Manager for Direct Messages on Twitter, Alex Ackerman-Greenberg told The Verge that currently his party is ready to test the voice messages feature in DM. Later this feature will be tested for the first time in Brazil.
Alex said that later this feature could allow users to send audio messages with a duration of up to 20 seconds via Direct Messages. The reason is that previously users could only send text and images
Just like voice tweets, voice messages in DM come with a fairly simple interface. There is only a play / pause button and information on the duration of the received audio message.
“The in-line recording experience makes it easier for users to send messages as part of their natural conversation flow,” said Twitter.
It is known that Twitter also presents a report message button which can later be used if a user misuses the voice DM feature. It seems that Twitter has already thought about all the impacts that might occur if the feature was released.
Of course, the presence of this feature makes Twitter now one step closer to its rivals, namely Facebook and Instagram, which have long presented an audio message feature in their Direct Messages.

The social network Twitter, which competes with platforms like Facebook, announced this Thursday a new tool for users.
Now you can write a tweet and, instead of posting it right away, schedule the date and time for when you want it to be published. For now, the option is only available through internet browsers and not in the app.
In November, Twitter had already advanced that it was testing this tool, which, for example, only exists through third-party services on other social networks such as Reddit and Instagram.
The advantage of this new mechanism, which can be activated by pressing the calendar button when writing a tweet, lies in the user’s option to choose a more opportune time to publish content without being online. In addition, the measure allows “Twitter user at the pace” of each user, as announced by the platform.
Another novelty presented is the possibility of saving drafts of tweets. That is, if you write a tweet and do not want to delete it, you can leave it written to continue writing later. These are not new measures and have been implemented by other services.
In the case of Gmail, Google’s free email service, scheduling of electronic messages became integrated into the platform in April 2019.

Interest in the app grew even more during this confinement phase due to COVID-19 and many took the opportunity to try the app.

According to the analysis carried out by the company SensorTower, TikTok and its Chinese version Douyin achieved 315 million downloads worldwide. This result concerns only the 1st quarter of 2020.
In financial terms, in general, TikTok was the application that generated the most revenue in April, totaling 78 million dollars (~ 71 million euros) accumulated in the month.
But even though popularity has increased worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was the Chinese version that contributed the largest share of that value. In particular, the Douyin app was responsible for 86.6% of the amount.
According to SensorTower, TikTok’s revenues come mainly from iOS devices.
This SensorTower data relates only to purchases made for services within the app (in-app purchase), not including, for example, profits due to advertising.
YouTube came in second
Google’s well-known video platform, however, was the second application that generated the most revenue in April. The value achieved by YouTube was 76 million dollars (~ 69 million euros), which represents an increase of 56% compared to the same period last year. A curiosity is that 56.4% of the platform’s profit comes from US users.
As we can see from the SensorTower table, in general, Tinder was the 3rd app that generated the most revenue in April, followed by Disney + and the Tencent Video application. Netflix comes in sixth, followed by iQIYI and BIGO LIVE. Finally, LINE Manga ranks 9th, and lastly the Google One app.
