OPPO today launched through the networks a teaser in which it shows that it prepares a fast charge of nothing more or nothing less than 125W, the fastest charging technology in the world

While fast charging speeds of 100W of power may sound very good, this could have its downsides. At the beginning of the year, Xiaomi listed several technical difficulties with the 100W fast charge, such as the significant degradation that the batteries presented with time and safety.

When Oppo tested the Reno Ace 2’s 4,000mAh battery with a 65W fast charge, it found that the battery capacity dropped to 91% after 800 charge cycles. While that’s not too shabby, increasing charging speeds to 100W and above could speed up that battery degradation.

However, we hope that manufacturers like Oppo and Vivo will solve all these problems before launching their fast-charging solutions.
