Things That Couldn't Be Done Before, Now Available in Windows 11

Every time a new operating system comes, there are several improvements compared to the previous version. Likewise with Windows 11. There are various cool new features that Microsoft has incorporated into the new OS. Here, We will discuss some of the new features and capabilities of Windows 11, which you would not previously find in Windows 10 or older Windows.

Access Default Snap Layouts

One of the standout new features in Windows 11 is the Snap Layout feature. This feature lets you access four predefined Windows snap layouts to organize multiple windows at once. It brings smooth task-switching functionality to the new OS.

Previously, in Windows 10, you had to drag an open window to the side or corner of your screen to make adjustments. With the Snap Layouts feature, you can hover your mouse over the maximize or minimize options in the upper right corner of the application window and select a layout to arrange multiple windows. You can also press Windows hotkey + Z to access Snap Layouts.

Manage Multiple Desktops Faster

Multiple virtual desktops are already supported in Windows 10. However, you can access various desktops much faster and more efficiently in Windows 11. When you install Windows 11, you can access and manage multiple desktops directly from the Taskbar. Just click the Task View button on the Taskbar, then create, access, and manage multiple virtual desktops right from the Taskbar. This is an excellent addition to Windows 11.

However, Microsoft gives you the flexibility to disable the Task View option from the Taskbar if you don’t want to use it. For that, right-click on the taskbar and select the Taskbar settings option. From here, you can remove the Task View option from the Taskbar.

Open Files directly from Start Menu

Microsoft has redesigned the Start Menu in Windows 11. You can quickly find and open files from there. Plus, you can now access recently accessed files directly from the Start Menu. Files are under the Recommended section of the Start Menu. To configure the feature according to your preferences, you can open Windows Settings and go to the Personalization → Start section.

Android App Support

The new and improved Microsoft Store comes with support for android applications with the integrated Amazon Appstore. You can download and install Android apps just like any other Windows app and then start using them. Later you can also directly run android applications on Windows 11. Also, almost all popular apps are now available in Windows Store, including VLC media player, Zoom, TikTok, Adobe Creative Cloud, Discord, and many more.

Detailed Battery Usage Statistics

In Windows 11, you get some additional statistics with graphs about battery usage. You can open the Settings app using the Windows + I hotkey and then go to the System tab. After that, click on the Power & Battery option from the right pane. Then, scroll down to the end and find the Battery Usage option, and expand this option.

Connect Quickly to Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams can now be accessed directly from the Taskbar in Windows 11. When you install this new OS, there is a Chat icon on the Taskbar. You can click this option and access Microsoft Teams chat. It also provides the opportunity to open the Microsoft Teams app directly. You can log in to your Teams account and start chatting with colleagues, friends and family. So, for those who use Microsoft Teams a lot, this is a great add-on.

Access & Manage Widgets from Taskbar

Microsoft has added an option directly on the Taskbar to launch widgets in Windows 11. Just tap the Widget icon and then access various tools and functions such as news, weather, upcoming calendar appointments, family safety, entertainment, and more. You can also use the add widget option to launch and customize new widgets. So, this is another excellent feature for widget lovers.

A Better and Modern Look and Feel

The new and improved look of the latest Windows 11 is suitable for modern users. You can enjoy the updated look of the desktop, Taskbar, Settings app, File Explorer and more in Windows 11. It’s refreshing with an excellent combination of colours, fonts and icons. The overall appearance of Windows 11 is more attractive than Windows 10 and other previous versions.

Help Focus

The built-in Clock app in Windows 11 is now all enhanced with the Focus Sessions feature. This new feature helps you to be able to focus more on your work for more extended periods and allows you to increase your overall productivity.

You can set timers and check daily progress, and review to-do lists. To further enhance the experience, you can also link your Spotify account and listen to your favourite music and podcasts while focusing on your work.
